Key Responsibilities


1. Clinical Duties


  • Diagnose and treat patients using Ayurvedic principles (e.g., Dosha analysis, Prakriti assessment).
  • Prescribe herbal medicines, dietary regimens, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Perform/supervise Panchakarma therapies (e.g., Virechana, Basti) with trained therapists.
  • Manage chronic conditions (e.g., arthritis, diabetes, digestive disorders) with Ayurvedic protocols.


2. Integration & Collaboration


  • Coordinate with allopathic doctors for complementary care (if hospital permits integrative medicine).
  • Refer cases to modern medicine specialists when required (e.g., emergencies, surgical needs).


3. Compliance & Documentation


  • Maintain patient records as per CCIM/NCISM and hospital guidelines.
  • Ensure all prescriptions include BAMS registration number (mandatory by law).
  • Adhere to biomedical waste rules for Ayurvedic pharmacies/therapies.


4. Health Promotion


  • Conduct workshops on preventive Ayurveda (e.g., seasonal routines, Yoga).
  • Supervise Ayurvedic wellness programs (e.g., detox camps, stress management).


5. Administrative Duties


  • Train nursing staff on Ayurvedic drug administration.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory (herbal medicines, medicated oils).


Qualifications & Skills


1. Mandatory Requirements


  • Degree: Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS) from a CCIM-recognized college.
  • Registration: Valid license from NCISM/State Ayurvedic Council (attach registration number).
  • Experience: 3-5 years in clinical Ayurveda
