Job Purpose:


The Butcher Assessor is responsible for assessing the skills, knowledge, and competence of learners undertaking butchery training or apprenticeship programs. The role ensures that learners meet industry standards and qualifications set by awarding bodies or vocational frameworks.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assess learners against recognized butchery qualifications and apprenticeship standards (e.g. Level 2 Butcher Standard).
  • Deliver workplace-based assessments and observations in line with qualification frameworks.
  • Provide support, feedback, and guidance to learners to help them progress and achieve.
  • Plan and conduct assessment activities such as professional discussions, practical observations, and portfolio reviews.
  • Record and report assessment decisions clearly and accurately using e-portfolios or paper-based systems.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality assurance (IQA) and external awarding body standards.
  • Liaise with employers and training providers to monitor learner progress.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry practices, qualification requirements, and regulatory changes.


Required Qualifications & Experience:


  • Qualified butcher with substantial hands-on experience in meat preparation and processing.
  • TAQA, A1 Assessor Award, or equivalent assessing qualification (or willingness to work towards).
  • Up-to-date knowledge of food hygiene, health & safety, and meat industry standards.
  • Experience in training, coaching, or mentoring apprentices or junior staff (desirable).
  • Knowledge of vocational qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds, FDQ, or similar).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Working Conditions:

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent


Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
