Job Summary:


We are seeking a skilled and reliable

Welder / Helper to join our container terminal maintenance team. The candidate will assist in performing welding, fabrication, and repair tasks on terminal equipment, container structures, and facility infrastructure, ensuring operational safety and efficiency. This role involves working closely with welders, mechanics, and other technical staff to maintain high-quality standards and meet operational deadlines.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist welders in preparing, assembling, and completing welding and fabrication tasks on terminal equipment, containers, chassis, and other metal structures.
  • Operate basic hand tools, grinders, cutting torches, and other welding-related equipment under supervision.
  • Perform basic welding, cutting, and grinding as directed by senior welders or supervisors.
  • Prepare work areas by cleaning, positioning materials, and organizing tools and equipment.
  • Assist in dismantling or repairing damaged metal components and container fittings.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, wearing proper PPE and following safe work practices at all times.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace in good working condition.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities on cranes, forklifts, trailers, and other port equipment as needed.
  • Carry out other general labor tasks within the maintenance department when required.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent (Technical Training/Certification in Welding is an advantage).
  • Basic knowledge of welding techniques (MIG, TIG, ARC) and metal fabrication.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Physically fit, able to lift heavy materials and work in outdoor environments.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions from skilled welders and supervisors.
  • Previous experience in port, logistics, or heavy equipment maintenance preferred but not mandatory.
  • Commitment to workplace safety standards and procedures.


Work Environment:


  • Outdoor and workshop environment, exposed to varying weather conditions.
  • May involve working at heights, in confined spaces, or near heavy machinery.
  • Use of safety gear (helmet, gloves, goggles, safety boots) is mandatory.


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
