Cost and Management Accountant

We are looking for a passionate and skilled professional to join our finance team and drive our cost efficiency initiatives.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a similar FMCG manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for all cost accounting activities, including product costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and budgeting. Your role will be crucial in providing accurate cost information to management for strategic decision-making, ensuring profitability, and identifying opportunities for cost reduction across our grocery and snacks product lines.

• Product Costing:
  
• Develop and maintain accurate cost sheets for all SKUs, including raw materials, packing materials, direct labour, and overheads.
  
• Perform monthly closing of product costing and ensure all production costs are accurately captured.
  
• Calculate the cost of new products to support pricing and launch decisions.
  
• Standard Costing & Variance Analysis:
  
• Establish and update standard costs for all manufactured goods.
  
• Conduct detailed variance analysis (Material, Labour, Overhead, Purchase Price Variance) to compare standard costs with actual costs.
  
• Investigate the root causes of variances and provide actionable insights and recommendations to the production and supply chain teams.
  
• Inventory Management & Valuation:
  
• Oversee the valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory.
  
• Coordinate with the production and warehouse teams for physical stock verification and reconcile physical stock with book records.
  
• Analyze slow-moving and non-moving inventory and provide suggestions for its liquidation.
  
• Budgeting, Forecasting & MIS:
  
• Assist in the preparation of annual production budgets and forecasts.
  
• Prepare and circulate monthly MIS reports, including product-wise/plant-wise profitability, cost statements, and variance analysis reports.
  
• Provide financial data and analysis to support management in strategic and operational decision-making.
  
• Cost Control & Reduction:
  
• Continuously monitor and analyze costs to identify potential areas for cost reduction and process improvement without compromising quality.
  
• Work closely with the plant operations team to implement cost-saving initiatives and track their effectiveness.
  
• Analyze manufacturing overheads and recommend measures for optimal cost absorption.
  
• Compliance & Audit:
  
• Ensure maintenance of cost records as per the Companies (Cost Records and Audit) Rules.
  
• Act as the primary point of contact for internal and statutory cost audits.
  

• Educational Qualification: Qualified Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) is mandatory.
  
• Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of post-qualification experience in a core cost accounting role within an FMCG food, snacks, or grocery manufacturing company is essential.
  
• Technical Skills:
  
• Strong command of cost accounting principles, standards, and techniques.
  
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, PivotTables, Sumifs, etc.).
  
• Soft Skills:
  
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
  
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Production, Supply Chain, Sales).
