Hostess is the first point of contact for guests in the restaurant. She ensures a warm welcome, smooth seating arrangements, and excellent guest service throughout their dining experience. The role requires strong communication, interpersonal skills, and a professional appearance to represent the hospitality standards of the establishment.
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables.
- Manage reservations and walk-in guests effectively to maximize table turnover and guest satisfaction.
- Present menus, introduce specials, and assist with initial guest inquiries.
- Coordinate with waitstaff and kitchen to ensure efficient service flow.
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Handle guest complaints politely and escalate issues when necessary.
- Ensure cleanliness and readiness of the hostess desk, menus, and entrance area.
- Monitor dining areas to anticipate guest needs and support service staff when required.
- Promote restaurant offerings, special events, and loyalty programs.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Pleasant personality, well-groomed, and professional appearance.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Basic knowledge of food & beverage service is an advantage.
- Prior experience in hospitality or front-of-house roles preferred.
