Fashion Design-Faculty

The Fashion Design Faculty member will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in fashion design, guiding students in the development of their technical and conceptual skills, and contributing to curriculum development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fashion design, industry experience, and a passion for mentoring the next generation of designers.

• Teach a range of courses including fashion illustration, pattern making, draping, garment construction, fashion history, and digital design.
  
• Develop and update syllabi, lesson plans, projects, and assessments aligned with course and program outcomes.
  
• Supervise student work in studios and labs; provide constructive feedback and mentorship.
  
• Maintain an active presence on campus and engage in departmental meetings, critiques, reviews, and events.
  
• Advise students academically and guide them through capstone or final collection projects.
  
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and sustainability practices.
  
• Participate in curriculum development and accreditation efforts.
  
• Foster industry partnerships, internship opportunities, and collaborative projects.
  
• Contribute to scholarly, creative, or professional activities in the fashion field.
  

• Master�s degree in Fashion Design or a closely related field (MFA preferred).
  
• Professional experience in the fashion industry (design, production, merchandising, etc.).
  
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching or professional training (prior college-level teaching preferred).
  
• Strong portfolio of professional or student work.
  
• Proficiency in fashion design software (Adobe Illustrator, CLO 3D, Gerber, etc.).
  
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  

• Experience with sustainable and ethical fashion practices.
  
• Knowledge of diverse cultural perspectives in fashion.
  
• Active involvement in professional organizations and events.
  
• Experience supervising thesis or portfolio projects.
