- Perform welding on boilers, IBR pipelines, and pressure vessels as per Indian Boiler Regulations.
- Carry out butt, fillet, and groove welds on pipes, tubes, and plates in various positions (1G–6G).
- Work strictly as per approved WPS, IBR codes, and engineering drawings.
- Ensure proper weld quality, pre-heating, and PWHT (post-weld heat treatment).
- Coordinate with fitters and inspectors for fit-up checks, NDT, and hydro testing.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety and IBR documentation requirements.
- Valid IBR Welder Certification (Regulation 609).
- Skilled in SMAW, GTAW, TIG/MIG welding processes.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in IBR fabrication and boiler/piping projects.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and quality assurance procedures.
- Read and interpret IBR-approved fabrication drawings and layouts.
- Perform cutting, edge preparation, alignment, and fit-up of pipelines, flanges, and boiler parts.
- Ensure correct root gap, tolerances, and alignment before welding.
- Assist welders during fit-up, tack welding, and inspection processes.
- Handle assembly of valves, fittings, supports, and accessories as per IBR standards.
- Support inspectors during hydro test and IBR approval process.
- Maintain high standards of safety and quality compliance at the site.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in IBR fabrication projects.
- Proficient with measuring tools (vernier calipers, gauges, spirit levels, etc.).
- Familiar with IBR codes, standards, and inspection procedures.
