Full job description
We are hiring a Java Tech Lead to architect, build, and lead delivery of microservice-based applications deployed on AWS. You will lead a small cross-functional development team, collaborate with product.
What You'll Do.
- Lead and mentor a development team (planning, code reviews)
- Architect and implement microservices using Java 17 (Spring/Spring Boot preferred)
- Own technical design, API design, and system integration patterns
- Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
- Deploy and operate applications on AWS (EC2-based deployments); collaborate with DevOps
- Ensure robust database design and performance with relational databases
- Drive test automation, code quality, observability (logging/metrics), and incident response
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with product owners and QA
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term fixes
- Communicate technical trade-offs and roadmap to stakeholders
What We're Looking For.
- 5–7 years of professional experience leading development teams (team lead, tech lead, or similar)
- Strong hands-on Java development experience targeting Java 17
- Proven experience designing and building microservice architectures
- Experience deploying and handling applications on AWS EC2
- Solid knowledge of relational databases (schema design, SQL tuning)
- Practical experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar)
- Familiar with containerization (Docker); Openshift/Redhat experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies and experience working in Scrum teams
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent (or equivalent experience)
