A Manager of Manufacturing Quality Assurance (QA) is responsible for ensuring all products meet or exceed quality standards and customer expectations throughout the entire production lifecycle.
This role is crucial for maintaining brand reputation, reducing costs from defects and waste, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Develop and implement the company's quality assurance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Establish quality metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor product and process performance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Manage the QA budget and allocate resources effectively to meet quality objectives.
- Supervise and manage the QA team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee all product inspection and testing activities to ensure they meet internal and external specifications.
•Conduct and coordinate internal and external audits (e.g., ISO 9001) to ensure compliance with quality management systems. •Manage the Non-Conformance and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) process to investigate root causes of defects and implement permanent solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, production, supply chain) to integrate quality into all stages of manufacturing, from raw materials to final product.
- Analyze quality data and produce statistical reports to identify trends, areas for improvement, and potential risks.
•Handle customer complaints related to product quality, leading investigations and communicating findings and resolutions. •Ensure all products and processes comply with relevant regulatory standards and legal requirements.
