A room attendant’s primary duty is to keep guest rooms clean and tidy. They are sometimes also responsible for general tidying duties across the whole hotel, resort or other hospitality site, such as bathrooms, staircases and public areas. The duties and responsibilities of a room attendant also often include:
- Wearing the correct uniform every day;
- Changing linen and making guest room beds;
- Cleaning bathrooms and replacing any towels that guests have left out;
- Hoovering and sweeping staircases and other public areas;
- Communicating with guests;
- Restocking a guest room fridge;
- Using cleaning equipment and chemicals.
