Key Responsibilities:


1. CT Imaging:


o Operate the CT scanner and related equipment to capture high-quality images of patients as per the radiologist’s instructions.


o Ensure proper positioning and preparation of patients for CT scans, maintaining patient comfort and cooperation.


o Perform various CT procedures, including brain, chest, abdomen, and musculoskeletal scans.


2. Patient Care and Communication:


o Explain the procedure to the patient in a clear and compassionate manner, ensuring they understand and are comfortable with the process.


o Ensure patients are well-informed regarding the CT scan process, including the use of contrast materials if necessary.


o Provide a supportive environment for patients, particularly those who may be anxious about the procedure.


3. Radiation Safety and Protocols:


o Adhere to radiation safety guidelines to minimize exposure to both patients and staff.


o Follow the principles of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) to ensure minimal radiation exposure.


o Monitor patients for any adverse reactions to contrast agents and respond appropriately.


4. Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:


o Operate and maintain CT scanners, ensuring that equipment is functioning properly and reporting any issues to the maintenance team.


o Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the equipment and surrounding environment.


o Regularly check and calibrate the CT machine to ensure accurate results.


5. Documentation and Record Keeping:


o Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including CT images, reports, and any other relevant documentation.


o Assist radiologists in documenting results and preparing images for review and interpretation.


o Ensure that all imaging results are properly labelled, stored, and transmitted to the appropriate department.


6. Collaboration and Reporting:


o Work closely with radiologists and other medical professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and optimal patient care.


o Communicate with the medical team regarding any issues or concerns during the imaging process.


o Participate in multidisciplinary meetings when necessary to discuss complex cases.


7. Quality Control:


o Ensure high-quality diagnostic images through effective patient positioning, scanning technique, and equipment usage.


o Participate in quality assurance activities as required by hospital or institutional protocols.


8. Professional Development:


o Stay updated with advancements in CT technology and imaging techniques.


o Participate in relevant workshops,


Working Conditions:


  • Shifts may include morning, evenings, night or on-call hours, depending on the hospital operating schedule.
  • Willingness to work in any department of Radiology (CT, MRI, X-ray, Ultrasound, Mammography, etc.) as per organizational requirements.â€
  • Potential for extended periods of standing or sitting in front of the equipment.
  • Exposure to radiation is part of the job, but safety measures are implemented to minimize risks.
