Key Responsibilities:


1. MRI Imaging:


o Operate MRI scanners to capture high-resolution images of patients’ internal organs and tissues based on radiologist’s instructions.


o Ensure proper positioning of patients for optimal imaging results.


o Administer contrast agents (if necessary) under the guidance of a physician or radiologist.


o Conduct various MRI procedures, including brain, spine, abdomen, joint, and musculoskeletal scans.


2. Patient Care and Communication:


o Explain the MRI procedure to patients, including how to prepare and what to expect during the scan, to ensure comfort and cooperation.


o Monitor patients during the MRI scan to ensure their safety and well-being, providing support in case of any discomfort.


o Ensure that patients are not experiencing any claustrophobia or anxiety during the procedure, and address their concerns as needed.


3. Safety and Compliance:


o Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and the safe use of MRI equipment.


o Follow strict MRI safety protocols due to the strong magnetic fields generated during scanning.


o Ensure that all metallic objects or implants are removed or appropriately handled before scanning to avoid safety risks.


o Maintain patient confidentiality and handle all sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.


4. Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:


o Operate and maintain MRI equipment, ensuring that all machines are functioning properly.


o Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on MRI scanners and associated equipment.


o Report any technical issues or malfunctioning equipment to the maintenance team and ensure timely repairs.


5. Documentation and Record Keeping:


o Accurately document patient information, scan details, and image results.


o Maintain organized records for each patient, ensuring that images are properly stored and accessible for future reference.


o Assist radiologists in preparing images for interpretation, including labeling and organizing scans as required.


6. Collaboration and Reporting:


o Work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the quality and accuracy of diagnostic results.


o Communicate effectively with doctors and medical staff to ensure the timely processing and sharing of MRI reports.


o Report any concerns or irregularities during the scanning process to the relevant medical personnel.


7. Quality Control and Improvement:


o Ensure high-quality imaging by adhering to protocols and procedures.


o Participate in quality assurance programs to improve imaging techniques and patient care.


o Regularly review MRI scans for image clarity and technical issues to maintain diagnostic accuracy.


8. Professional Development:


o Stay up to date with advances in MRI technology, imaging techniques, and safety practices.


o Participate in training and workshops related to MRI and diagnostic imaging to maintain and improve skills.


o Adhere to the latest standards and regulations in MRI and radiology


Working Conditions:


· Shifts may include morning, evenings, night, or on-call hours, depending on the hospital or clinic's operational schedule.


· Willingness to work in any department of Radiology (CT, MRI, X-ray, Ultrasound, Mammography, etc.) as per organizational requirements.â€


· The position may require standing for extended periods or positioning patients for scans.


· Exposure to the strong magnetic fields of the MRI machine is part of the job; however, safety measures are implemented to ensure employee safety.
