The Quality Assurance and Technical Officer is responsible for ensuring that all tyres produced meet internal quality standards and industry regulations. This role involves quality control, process auditing, defect analysis, and coordinating with production and R&D teams to improve tyre performance, durability, and safety.
- Implement and monitor QA systems in compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other relevant standards.
- Perform in-process and final inspection of tyres (visual inspection, X-ray, uniformity, balancing, etc.).
- Ensure raw materials meet specified standards (e.g., rubber compounds, fabric, steel wires).
- Maintain quality records, reports, and documentation.
- Handle customer complaints and conduct root cause analysis
- Collaborate with R&D on testing new tyre compounds and designs.
- Monitor and analyze tyre test data (e.g., endurance, rolling resistance, wet grip, wear rate).
- Support product validation, including lab testing and on-road trials.
- Conduct failure/defect analysis of returned tyres (e.g., tread separation, sidewall bulges, bead area failures).
- Strong knowledge of tyre construction (bias), materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
- Knowledge of testing equipment: UTM, rheometer, hardness tester, aging ovens, X-ray, etc.
- B.Tech / B.E. in Rubber Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science, or Chemical Engineering.
- Certification in Quality Management Systems (QMS) is a plus.
- 2�8 years in tyre manufacturing or rubber processing industry, specifically in QA or technical services.
- Experience with OEM audits and customer quality assurance is desirable.
