Job Title: Design Engineer - Physics Experiments for School Education Company: Dasco Education Pvt.Ltd (Jigyasu)

Location: Bhubaneswar,Odisha

About Us:Jigyasu is an education startup started by Satwik Das, an alumni of IIT Kharagpur. Through in-house R&D, Jigyasu has created science models, experiments and activities that physically demonstrate the various scientific concepts. These models, experiments & activities are mapped to the curriculum of the schools for Grades 6-12 and can be integrated with regular classroom activities in schools. They are offering their models to schools along with a trained demonstrator for handling the sessions.

About the Role:

We seek talented and passionate Design Engineers to join our team in developing engaging and accessible physics experiments for school students. You will be instrumental in translating scientific concepts into tangible learning experiences through your expertise in mechanisms, prototyping, and design for manufacturing. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine your technical skills with a desire to inspire the next generation of scientists.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with educators and scientists to translate physics concepts into experiment designs suitable for school children.
  
• Develop mechanical prototypes of experiment components, utilising your strong understanding of mechanical principles and material properties.
  
• Employ your expertise in mechanisms to design engaging and functional experiment interactions.
  
• Leverage your knowledge of design for manufacturing (DFM) to ensure prototypes are cost-effective and readily producible.
  
• Conduct iterative testing and refine designs based on feedback from educators and students.
  
• Manage the lifecycle of your designs, from initial sketches to final production files.
  
• Document design specifications, processes, and lessons learned for future iterations.
  
• Stay up-to-date on advancements in educational technology and materials to informfuture project ideas.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. [Coursework relevant to Design of Machine Elements, Engineering Drawing/Design]
  
• 2+ years of experience designing and building prototypes.[Exposure of PLC management tools, FEM, CAD tools]
  
• Strong understanding of mechanics, mechanisms, and material properties.
  
• Proven ability to translate complex concepts into practical designs.
  
• Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  
• Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
