Experience Required: 3+ Years in Mortgage Underwriting

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced
QA Underwriter to join our team in Pune or Chennai. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in conventional mortgage underwriting and a deep understanding of income analysis, credit evaluation, and collateral assessment. This role requires working in a rotational 24/7 shift environment, ensuring that all mortgage loan files meet client and investor guidelines with high accuracy and compliance.- Review complete mortgage loan files including income, assets, credit, and collateral.
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure loan files are accurate, complete, and compliant.
- Analyze borrower documents and underwrite loans according to AUS/manual guidelines (DU/LP).
- Identify red flags and ineligible properties; escalate issues when necessary.
- Issue loan decisions and conditions as per client guidelines.
- Approve conditions and support processors/loan officers in clearing them.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of investor and client requirements.
- Use multiple systems and maintain accurate data entry in a paperless environment.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Resolve pre- and post-closing underwriting issues.
- Work in a secure environment with strict adherence to data and information protection protocols.
- Minimum 3 years of current experience in conventional mortgage underwriting.
- Strong understanding of income calculations, tax returns, credit analysis, and collateral review.
- Familiarity with GSE guidelines (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac) and automated underwriting systems (DU/LP).
- Experience in identifying underwriting risks and red flags.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in working with digital loan origination systems in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
- Willingness to work night shifts and rotational shifts (24/7 support).
- Team-oriented with a strong attention to detail.
- NMLS-MLO Licensure (preferred but not mandatory).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
