How You Will Contribute:

The SVT/PV Engineer will develop test strategies, automation script development, and execute test plans for Ciena’s Optical Network products, focusing on OTN Transport, Switching, Automation and NMS.

Key Responsibilities:* Build in-depth knowledge of Product Architecture, Product Features & associated Standards, Network Use-Case Scenarios and Test Automation.

• Develop, automate and execute test strategies for Telecom networks.
  
• Create and execute test plans using Manual and Automation methods.
  
• Identify and automate test scenarios.
  
• Debug and resolve defects with design teams.
  
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (ITU-T, IETF, IEEE, ANSI).
  
• Collaborate with a multi-functional team of designers, other QA IT team and release management team
  

Must Have :* OTN Transport & Switching

• Test Automation (Python)
  
• Defect Analysis & Debugging
  
• Telecom Network Testing with hands-on experience with Test Equipment�s. Ex. ONT, IXIA, HSE etc
  
• Bachelor�s/Master�s in Electronics, Computer Science, or Optical Communications.
  
• 2+ years in Telecom System Testing.
  
• Experience in test planning/execution, automation, reporting and debugging.
  
• Exposure to photonics/DWDM, NMS and TDM/packet technologies
  
• Improved test efficiency & automation coverage
  
• Reduction in defect leakage & debugging time
  
• Compliance with test quality standards
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, communication and inter-personal skills
  

Nice-to-Have Skills* Exposure to different NBIs – REST, NETCONF, gRPC and Photonics/DWDM

• Exposure to photonics/DWDM, NMS and TDM/packet technologies
