Job Summary:


The Chemo Staff Nurse is responsible for administering chemotherapy and other oncology treatments safely and effectively, monitoring patients during and after treatment, educating patients and families, and ensuring adherence to oncology care protocols.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Administer chemotherapy and other cancer treatments as per the oncologist�s prescription and protocols.
  • Monitor and assess patients for adverse reactions during and after chemotherapy.
  • Prepare and manage chemotherapy medications with strict adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Educate patients and families about the chemotherapy process, side effects, and self-care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatments and patient responses.
  • Follow infection control and safety procedures in the chemotherapy administration area.
  • Coordinate with oncologists, pharmacists, and other team members for effective patient care.
  • Manage central lines, ports, and IV access devices used for treatment.
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials (e.g., cytotoxic drugs).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits related to oncology nursing.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of chemotherapy protocols and advances in oncology nursing.


Qualifications & Experience:


  • Education: B.Sc Nursing / GNM with relevant oncology certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 1�2 years of experience in an oncology setting or chemotherapy unit.
  • Certification: Trained in chemotherapy administration; BLS/ACLS certification desirable.


Skills Required:


  • In-depth knowledge of chemotherapy drugs, protocols, and side effects.
  • Strong clinical and patient assessment skills.
  • Empathy and good communication skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and manage critically ill patients.
  • Strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Good documentation and record-keeping abilities.


Working Conditions:


  • Shift duties may be required

Pay: ₹23,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
