We are seeking an experienced Medical Coder to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in outpatient and inpatient medical coding, including proficiency in DX and procedure code billing. As a Medical Coder, you will be responsible for accurately coding diagnoses, procedures, and other healthcare services in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Review and analyze patient records for accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Assign correct CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and procedure codes for outpatient and inpatient services.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations, payer guidelines, and coding standards.
- Maintain knowledge of updated coding policies and standards.
- Perform quality checks and audits on medical records.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures, when needed.
- Participate in audits and compliance checks as required.
- Stay updated with the latest coding and healthcare industry trends.
- Bachelor�s degree in a medical-related field.
- Minimum 6 months -1 years of experience in medical coding, with a focus on DX and procedure code billing for outpatient and inpatient settings.
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification is required.
- Expertise in CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and US Healthcare billing systems.
- Strong knowledge of medical coding and healthcare regulations.
- Familiarity with CMS and UB other payer requirements.
- CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
- COC (Certified Outpatient Coder)
- RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician)
- CPMA (Certified Professional Medical Auditor)
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
