To supervise and manage the packing section of the biscuit manufacturing unit, ensuring correct packing, proper labeling, weight accuracy, hygiene, and timely dispatch. The role includes managing packing operators, maintaining quality, minimizing wastage, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
- Supervise the entire packing process including primary and secondary packaging of biscuits.
- Ensure proper functioning of packing machines like flow wrap machines, pouch packing, box filling, etc.
- Monitor product weights, pack quality, sealing, labeling, and expiry/batch coding.
- Coordinate with the production and quality departments to ensure packed products meet all specifications.
- Manage manpower allocation in the packing section for optimal output.
- Train workers and helpers on standard packing procedures and safety practices.
- Maintain proper documentation of daily packing output, material consumption, wastage, rejections, and downtime.
- Ensure packing area cleanliness, hygiene, and compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and FSSAI norms.
- Monitor packing material inventory (laminates, cartons, labels) and coordinate with stores for timely availability.
- Address machine stoppages or faults with the maintenance team for minimal downtime.
- Strong leadership and supervision skills.
- Hands-on knowledge of packing machinery used in biscuit or FMCG industry.
- Good understanding of packaging standards, weights, and labelling regulations.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage shift documentation.
- Basic troubleshooting knowledge for packing machines.
- Qualification: ITI / Diploma / Graduate in any discipline.
- Experience: 1�3 years in packing operations in food / FMCG / biscuit manufacturing industry.
