Job Summary:


The Registrar in Pediatrics will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to infants, children, and adolescents under the supervision of senior pediatric consultants. The role involves diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of pediatric conditions in inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring comprehensive and compassionate care.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assess, diagnose, and treat pediatric patients with acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Manage patient care from admission to discharge, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with senior pediatricians and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary.
  • Provide emergency care and participate in pediatric resuscitation when required.
  • Document clinical findings, treatment plans, and patient progress accurately in medical records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide education and support.
  • Participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and departmental meetings.
  • Supervise and support junior medical staff, interns, and medical students as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, clinical guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.


Qualifications:


  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
  • MD in Pediatrics
  • Completion of an internship and relevant postgraduate training in Pediatrics.
  • Registration with the appropriate Medical Council or Licensing Authority.
  • Previous experience in pediatric clinical settings is preferred.
  • Advanced life support certifications (e.g., PALS) are advantageous.
