INDUSTRY: Preferably Hospital / Healthcare.
KEY SKILLS:
à˜ Basic knowledge of sterilization processes and infection control.
à˜ Attention to detail and ability to follow standard protocols.
à˜ Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle equipment.
à˜ Good communication and teamwork skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
à˜ Receive, sort, and clean used surgical instruments and equipment.
à˜ Follow proper procedures for handling contaminated items using PPE.
à˜ Operate ultrasonic cleaners and washer-disinfectors.
à˜ Inspection and Assembly:
à˜ Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage.
à˜ Assemble instrument sets according to surgical schedules and standards.
à˜ Replace or report broken/missing instruments.
à˜ Operate and monitor autoclaves and other sterilizing equipment (e.g., ETO, plasma).
à˜ Load and unload sterilizers according to protocols.
à˜ Ensure correct labeling and documentation of sterilized items.
à˜ Storage and Distribution:
à˜ Store sterilized items in sterile storage areas under standard conditions.
à˜ Maintain par levels and issue sterile supplies to operation theatres, wards, and other units.
à˜ Track usage and maintain accurate inventory records.
à˜ Follow infection control and hospital safety guidelines.
à˜ Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation of sterilization logs.
à˜ Participate in quality assurance and department audits.
