Job Description: English & SST Teacher (Grades 6–8)

• Role: Full-time English and Social Studies Teacher for Middle Grades (6�8).
  
• Curriculum: Cambridge Lower Secondary (Cambridge Secondary 1) � aligned with IGCSE programme (universal.edu.in, in.indeed.com, en.wikipedia.org).
  
• Board Affiliation: Cambridge Assessment International Education (IGCSE), with IB Diploma available for Grades 11�12 (mumbaischooldirectory.com).
  

• Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons in English language, literature, and Social Studies (History, Geography, Civics).
  
• Prepare students for Cambridge assessments using appropriate testing and evaluation tools.
  
• Use creative, interactive pedagogies including group activities, projects, and debates to foster critical thinking.
  
• Integrate curriculum resources such as textbooks, multimedia, maps, and primary sources.
  
• Conduct formative and summative assessments, provide constructive feedback.
  
• Maintain student records (grades, attendance, progress reports).
  
• Collaborate with peers, participate in team meetings, contribute to school-wide initiatives and events.
  
• Engage with parents through parent-teacher meetings and written feedback.
  
• Support co‑curricular activities: clubs, field trips, presentations, etc.
  
• Align lessons with school�s mission of holistic, internationally-minded education.
  

• Education: Bachelor�s degree in English, History, Geography, Education, or related field. B.Ed./PGCTE preferred.
  
• Experience: Minimum 2 years teaching experience in middle grades (6�8), ideally in IGCSE or IB environments.
  
• Skills: Strong command of English, lesson planning, classroom management, assessment design.
  
• Attributes: Culturally aware, collaborative, student-focused, tech-savvy (familiar with smart classes/iPads etc.), enthusiastic about international education.
