As a AI Engineer, you will be joining a team transforming healthcare and improving the lives and vitality of the millions of members we serve. We leverage cutting edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms to develop solutions for automated document processing and customer service chat bots.

We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in backend engineering or data engineering, who is looking to transition into AI-focused development. You will play a key role in supporting backend application development, system integration, and implementing AI capabilities in our products. This role requires a solid foundation in Python, system integrations, and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Python, with a focus on reliability and scalability.
  
• Work with Python frameworks like FastAPI, Django, and Pydantic to build and integrate APIs.
  
• Implement advanced programming concepts like asynchronous programming, decorators, and efficient coding practices.
  
• Assist in system integration tasks across cloud and on-premises platforms, ensuring smooth communication between databases and APIs.
  
• Support transaction management, failure handling, validation, and retries to ensure application robustness.
  
• Collaborate with teams to implement AI solutions into backend systems and workflows.
  
• Assist in managing cloud-based services, with a preference for experience in AWS.
  
• Contribute to the adoption of tools and technologies such as Langchain, Langraph, and Agentic to enhance AI functionalities (experience is a plus).
  

Desired Qualifications:

• 5 to 8 years of experience in backend development or data engineering, with a focus on Python application development.
  
• Solid understanding of Python programming concepts and frameworks like FastAPI, Django, and Pydantic.
  
• Experience in system integrations between databases, APIs, and cloud/on-prem systems.
  
• Knowledge of handling transaction management, failure recovery, and system retries.
  
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is preferred.
  
• Understanding or interest in AI development, with exposure to tools such as Langchain, Langraph, and Agentic.
  
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex systems.
  
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  

Education and Training Required:

Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.

Location & Hours of Work

• Full-time position, working 40 hours per week. Expected overlap with US hours as appropriate.
  
• Primarily based in the Innovation Hub in Hyderabad, India, with flexibility to work remotely as required.
